UCLA IT Services -- Network Services will be performing campus wireless authentication server maintenance on Sunday, July 19, 2020 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The servers will be restarted one at a time, and there is no expected interruption of service during the maintenance window.
On Monday, July 6, 2020, IT Services will enable WebAuthn support for UCLA Logon Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This update will enable you to use security keys on additional supported browsers as well as Touch ID on supported Macs for Duo authentication.
The Zoom at UCLA portal page has been updated to unify access to the Zoom login and all usage guidelines in one place. Zoom at UCLA is THE link for end-users and support personnel alike.
UCLA IT Services -- Network Services will be performing a software code upgrade on the Data Center firewall appliances on Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. In addition, the ASA code running on the appliances will also be upgraded. The code will be upgraded on one DCN firewall at a time, and no outage is expected as traffic will be re-routed through the redundant firewall appliances. There could be a potential connection disruption while the traffic is being re-routed and the upgrade is being performed.
IT Services is pleased to announce the launch of phase one of its new API Developer Portal. The API Developer Portal is a key component of the UCLA API Management Platform — it's the “face” of the UCLA API program and is the central hub for discovering campus APIs across many disciplines.
Zoom had disabled virtual camera support for Zoom in an earlier release on macOS. They have recently reenabled support, but only on a limited/whitelisted basis for a few virtual cameras. Included below is permitted software on their whitelist as well as virtual cameras that have been denied.
UCLA IT Services -- Network Services will be performing maintenance to the Campus VPN on Sunday, June 14, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Two VPN appliances will be removed from the cluster and dedicated for departmental VPN use. Campus VPN service is not expected to be interrupted, however some users may need to reconnect to the VPN during the maintenance window.
UCLA IT Services – Network Services will be performing maintenance to the GACnet captive portal to use new radius authentication servers on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Users who are currently authenticated during the maintenance window will remain connected. A brief interruption to new users' login/authentication could be expected during the maintenance window.
The maintenance that ServiceNow had originally scheduled for this Friday, June 12, has been postponed to July 17, 2020.
IT Services will be performing VoIP Licensing activity on Wednesday, June 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. During this time period, we expect no changes to your VoIP phone service.
IT Services -- Network Services will be performing maintenance on Campus Authentication Servers used for the "UCLA_WIFI" and "eduroam" SSIDs. This maintenance will allow us to point users to new Clearpass Authentication servers to log in to the "UCLA_WIFI" and "eduroam" SSIDs and will be completed on Sunday, June 14, 2020, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During this maintenance, campus wireless users on UCLA_WIFI or eduroam will start authenticating to new Campus Radius Servers, and existing sessions will not be affected until the session is ended and the client authenticates to a new session.
12:30 p.m. -- The issue regarding accessing OASIS should now be resolved.

We’re getting reports that some OASIS (Online Access to Student Information and Scheduling) users may be experiencing issues logging in. We're investigating the cause, which seems to be related to the SSL certificate. We’ll update when we learn more.
One of the new enhancements in the latest version of Zoom, version 5.0.0, requires all users to update their desktop client by May 30. I encourage all UCLA users to review Zoom’s summary of the latest updates, as well as UCLA’s latest guidance for using Zoom, and to update your desktop client today.
On Sunday, May 31, 2020, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., UCLA IT Services will be performing maintenance to the authentication servers for off-campus eduroam users. Off-campus eduroam users are those that connect to eduroam at an external institution using their @ucla.edu credentials. A brief service interruption for new authentication attempts to eduroam for off-campus users could be expected during the maintenance window. On-campus eduroam users are not affected during this maintenance.
Users may be experiencing issues connecting to Campus VPN via the L2TP protocol.
3:32 p.m. -- The issue regarding Campus VPN connections via the L2TP protocol should now be resolved.
