CIO Message | May 2023

Dear Colleagues:

I’d like to share the IT Executive Dashboard and a few notable highlights with you.

  • The Ascend 2.0 program continued to test Jaggaer — a procurement software solution — with a gate scheduled for the first week of June to verify that the system development and implementation are progressing according to plan. The mapping of Financial Accounting Units (FAUs) to the Chart of Accounts (CoA) has been successfully completed while the build and prototype of Oracle Financials is underway. You may view a recording of the Ascend 2.0 Town Hall conducted on May 8 to get an update on program status.
  • The IT Executive Governance Board is currently reviewing the proposed FACET program budget, which will determine the implementation timeline. In parallel, Financial Aid, Graduate and Professional Schools and IT Services stakeholders went through a review of Oracle’s Student Financial Planning (SFP) tool to better understand how the system works and aligns with our processes at UCLA.
  • The Bruin Voice team completed, as of May 15, the transition of 4,000 lines to Zoom softphones. Progress for the remaining 11,000 lines are available on the Deployment Dashboard
  • The HR IT Systems Optimization program obtained approval on the approach, timeline, budget and sustainment model to implement HR Service Delivery, JDXpert, and iCIMS.
  • The Software Central team completed the sunset of its legacy platform and is preparing to release new modern system and user interface — improving IT software licensing acquisition, management and distribution.

As part of our ongoing effort to keep an active dialog with each initiative, we’ve created a POPin survey for each of our active projects on our Key Initiatives page. We are continuing to refine our processes and truly value the feedback you provide.

Thank you,
