CIO Message | February 2023

Dear Colleagues:

As we continue to move through the winter quarter, I’d like to share the IT Executive Dashboard and a few notable highlights with you.

  • Ascend 2.0 is in the process of building out a change leader network to drive awareness, engagement, and business readiness. The team hosted a campuswide Town Hall on February 15 to connect the UCLA community with the program’s mission, progress, next steps, and opportunities to get involved.
  • The FACET program continues Phase I: Assessment and Planning activities with system implementation partner Sierra-Cedar. The team plans to present initial assessment findings and go-live recommendation on March 2 to the FACET Steering Committee, with a final report and recommendation due by end of March.
  • The first phase of the HR IT Systems Optimization program — which is the replacement of PeopleAdmin with HR Service Delivery to improve HR workflows and processes, JDXpert to facilitate the creation and management of job descriptions, and iCIMS to streamline the application process for job candidates and bring transparency to the recruitment process — is scheduled to go-live in May.  A BruinPost is scheduled to go out shortly to provide further details about the campuswide initiative.

As part of our ongoing effort to keep an active dialog with each initiative, we’ve created a feedback survey (POPin) for each of our active projects on our Key Initiatives page. We are continuing to refine our processes and truly value the input you provide.

Thank you,
