Microsoft 365 Partial Outage on September 28, 2020 (Resolved)

Users with email and services hosted on Microsoft 365 may be experiencing issues.

7:20 p.m. -- Microsoft has confirmed via their monitoring that the majority of services have recovered for most customers. However, they continue to see a small subset of customers whose tenants are located in North America region who are still impacted. They're now investigating mitigation steps for those customers who are still affected.

Campus Backbone Network Maintenance on Sunday, September 27, 2020

Network Services will be performing maintenance to the Campus Backbone border routers on Sunday, September 27 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be performing maintenance to Campus Backbone border routers on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The border routers' connections to CENIC will be re-configured to trunks to accommodate VLANs to Internet2 for Radware. No network interruption is expected during the maintenance window as traffic will be routed away from each connection prior to changes.

Issues with the Microsoft Exchange Online service -- Resolved

Users may be experiencing issues logging into the Microsoft Exchange Online service, which is the web interface for Exchange email.

5/13, 12:55 p.m. -- The Microsoft Exchange Online service has been restored. If you are still experiencing issues logging into the Outlook Web Access service, please contact IT Services -- IT Support Center at [email protected] or (310) 267-4357.

Scheduled maintenance for campus data center, Dec.14–15, 2019

The Network Services team has successfully migrated the ITS firewall context from the legacy firewall to the new infrastructure.

Update: 12/15/19, 10:28 a.m. — The Network Services team has successfully migrated the ITS firewall context from the legacy firewall to the new infrastructure. Validation testing has been completed by all the testers for critical systems.

IT Security Scheduled Maintenance, Saturday, October 5, 2019, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Network Services will be performing scheduled maintenance on several IT Security systems.

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Network Services will be performing scheduled maintenance on several IT Security systems. The following systems will be affected:

  • Qualys Vulnerability Scanning
  • Nessus Vulnerability Scanning
  • Spirion
  • IBM AppScan
  • PGP Encryption Services
  • WhiteHat SAST/DAST

We expect that these services will be back online and functional, following the maintenance outage.

UCLA IT Services – Network Services will be performing switch replacement at South Campus Student Center on Monday, September 30, 2019, between 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

UCLA IT Services – Network Services will be performing switch replacement at South Campus Student Center on Monday, September 30, 2019, between 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. During the switch replacements, wireless users at South Campus Student Center will experience intermittent connectivity.

Campus Wireless Maintenance on Sunday, 9/8/19, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

IT Services will be performing maintenance to upgrade software on Sunday, 9/8/19, between 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

UCLA IT Services – Network Services will be performing maintenance to upgrade software on four campus wireless controllers and associated access point devices on Sunday, 9/8/19, between 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Campus controllers will be upgraded and reloaded in pairs  and wireless access will be disrupted intermittently in certain areas during this process.
