Security & Authentication for the Departmental Security Administrator

Welcome to the reference for Departmental Security Administrators (DSAs). This area was created to provide reference materials for the Distributed Administrative Computing Security System (DACSS). This system is used to assign access levels to central administrative applications for inquiry, preparation and review of financial transactions.

The CAO (Chief Administrative Officer) of a unit is responsible for selecting DSAs and identifying which individuals will have access to applications. DSAs are responsible for setting up logon IDs and access to central administrative applications.

The DACSS Reports in the campus data warehouse (QDB) provide information about the current access of users in your department. To use the DACSS Reports, you must have a valid QDB logon ID and have either DACSS inquiry or DSA access. If you have DACSS/PAN questions, please contact Jessica Alcazar in Business & Finance Solutions at (310) 794-0404 or jalcazar@finance.ucla.edu.

The SAR form in ServiceNow allows DSAs to submit System Access Requests (SARs) for new logon IDs, Financial and Payroll QDB.

If you are still having problems after reviewing the pages listed under Related Links, contact the Access Services team or the IT Services Help Desk.
