UCLA Zoom Configuration Changes on Monday, September 21, 2020

On Monday, September 21st, two configuration changes will be made for the UCLA Zoom instance.

On Monday September 21, 2020 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., the following changes will be made to Zoom:

  • Users will no longer be able to override the retention period for cloud recordings, but the retention period will be increased from 30 to 90 days.  The overall quota usage will be monitored throughout Fall Quarter, and this may be reduced if needed.  Existing recordings that have deletion disabled will remain unchanged.  If you're an instructor and CCLE media user, your recordings will be available to you within CCLE.  You can learn about making these files available to your students by reading the Zoom Cloud Recording documentation.
  • The “Remind users to watch the live stream” when a webinar reaches capacity setting will be enabled.  If you’re planning to use live streaming for a webinar, be sure to test this in advance and remember that YouTube requires 24 hours to enable this feature on an account.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: If you have any questions regarding the use of CCLE, please contact your CCLE local support staff.  Other questions can be emailed to help@it.ucla.edu
