UCLA Spaces (Confluence) Migration to AWS on September 22, 2020

IT Services will be migrating UCLA Spaces (Confluence into AWS on September, 22, 2020.

On September 22 at 9 p.m., IT Services will be migrating UCLA Spaces (Confluence) into AWS (Amazon Web Services). As part of the AWS MRP, spaces.ais.ucla.edu (campus Confluence server) will be one of the applications that will migrate into AWS.

Migrating Confluence into AWS will provide several benefits:

  •  Utilize ELB with Auto-scaling which will ensure instance availability based on auto-scaling policy;
  •  Amazon Linux 2 OS which offers long term support as well as ongoing security and maintenance updates;
  •  RDS PostgreSQL provides a service that simplifies the setup, operation, and scalability of a relational database.

Service will be interrupted during this migration, and no content should be updated. We expect the migration to take approximately five hours.

If you have any questions or experience any difficulties outside of the maintenance window, please contact IT Services at (310) 267-HELP (4357), or email help@it.ucla.edu.
