New Health Sciences-Managed Box Accounts

Important information for employees whose @mednet email addresses are linked to their Box accounts: Your account will be converted on November 7.

If you are using an @mednet email address to log into your Box account, please take note: Your Box account will be converted on November 7, 2017, to a Health Sciences-managed Box account.

What does this mean?

UCLA Health Sciences has implemented a new instance of Box that ensures safe, unlimited and HIPAA-compliant storage for nearly any kind of data. Similar to your existing campus account, the new Box accounts will offer unlimited file storage, password-protected sharing, an upload file size limit of 15GB, and detailed version history. The new accounts will also offer HIPAA-compliant storage, Box Notes, and secure access to Box via multi-factor authentication when outside the Mednet network.

The account conversion will not cause any data loss, alter your permission and sharing settings, or affect the folder structure of your content.

What do I need to do?

Starting November 7, please follow these steps to log into your new Box account:

  1. Visit http://uclahs.box.com
  2. Enter your AD credentials.
  3. Click “Log In.”

Your account, and the contents within it, will be transferred automatically to a UCLA Health Sciences Box account.
