The campus Infoblox servers will be upgraded from version 8.2.9 to 8.4.8.

UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be performing maintenance to Campus DNS/DHCP Infoblox Grid servers on Sunday, March 7,  2021, from 12:00 a.m. - 8:59 a.m. The campus Infoblox servers will be upgraded from version 8.2.9 to 8.4.8.

No DNS / DHCP service interruptions are expected as the redundant servers will be upgraded one at a time.

ITS Data Center Network Migration on Thursday, February 4, 2021

Network Services will be migrating Vlan79 (128.97.98.128/26 network) configured in the Data Center environment to the new infrastructure on February 4th, 2021.

Network Services will be migrating Vlan79 (128.97.98.128/26 network) configured in the Data Center environment to the new infrastructure on February 4th, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. This will impact ITS LDAP servers that reside in this network and services on these hosts will be intermittently available during the migration.

ITS Data Center LDAP Network Migration on Thursday, February 4, 2021

Network Services will be migrating Vlan79 (128.97.98.128/26 network) configured in the Data Center environment to the new infrastructure on February 4, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Local Network Hardware Maintenance from December 21 to 23, 2020

Network Services will be performing code upgrades on local network devices from December 21st to 23rd.

Network Services will be performing code upgrades for department specific network devices across campus to address critical Cisco security vulnerabilities. Network coordinators for the individual buildings where the maintenance will occur have been notified with specific times for their building's maintenance. The maintenance will be happening from December 21 to December 23 between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. 

Scheduled Phased Maintenance to Core Router at Anderson, December 19 through 22, 2020

On December 19, 2020, Network Services will begin a phased approach to replacing a core router chassis at Anderson.

On Saturday, Dec. 19, from 1:00 a.m. to 6:59 a.m., the Network Services team will begin a phased approach to replacing a core router chassis at Anderson. This maintenance is essential, as we are currently running at reduced capacity and a complete failure could result in extended campus network outage.

In order to minimize the impact to campus, we’re breaking this maintenance into three phases during the approved maintenance window:

Cisco UCS Maintenance on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:59 a.m.

We’ve encountered technical difficulties and are working with the vendor to resolve them.

Update, 1:54 p.m. — We've restored SSO/Shibboleth service, and implemented a workaround for the VPN service. We're continuing to investigate the root cause, and determining a more permanent solution. CENIC Emergency Maintenance on Thursday, December 3rd from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Network Services will assist with an emergency maintenance on a CENIC device on Thursday, December 3rd from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

On Thursday, December 3rd, from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be helping the UCLA provider company CENIC perform emergency maintenance to replace a failed line card on one of the CENIC devices on campus.

The failed line card is not serving the UCLA connections to CENIC and no service interruption is expected to the campus connectivity.
